On 29 January 2010 the new EU-funded research project „Governance of educational trajectories in Europe“ (GOETE) will celebrate its start with a public symposium. IRIS is a partner within GOETE which is coordinated by the Institute of Educational Science of the University of Tübingen. Since January 2010 IRIS is part of the European research project „Governance of Educational Trajectories in Europe. Access, coping and relevance of education for young people in European knowledge societies in comparative perspective (GOETE)“. There are 13 partner institutes from 8 European countries involved (Germany, Finland, France, UK, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, and Slovenia). The results of the evaluation have been published in a report. IRIS e.V., in cooperation with the Institute of Education at the University of Tübingen, was entrusted with the evaluation of the mentoring project „Friends create success“ (Caritas Stuttgart). Within the project, mentorship was conceptually designed as a „support of equals“. „Youth – actor of social change. Findings from European youth research“ is the title of the UP2YOUTH policy seminar to be held 5-6 March 2009 in Brussels. This event is organised by the project ‚Youth – actor of social change‘ (UP2YOUTH) together with the European Commission’s DG Research and other EU-funded research projects.
IRIS has been involved in the project ZIP-EQUAL from 2005 to 2008. The project has been dealing with the identification and development of intercultural potential among staff and HR managers in the field of public organisations and SMEs. Under the heading „Make use of intercultural potential“, IRIS has now published a comprehensive report. Download the PDF version of the report.
Just published is a volume in the series „age and social work“ that deals exclusively with “ Young Adults „. Represented with contributions are the IRIS staff members Sarina Ahmed, Axel Pohl, Barbara Stauber and Andreas Walther.
Since January 2008, IRIS in cooperation with the Institute of Educational Science at the University of Tübingen, is in charge of the evaluation of the pilot project „Friends create success.“
IRIS is partner in a project commissioned by the Ministry for Economy and Social Affairs of the Free State of Saxony. Together with the University of Hildesheim and IRIS e.V. Dresden, IRIS is working on a study on the future changes in the system of vocational guidance in this region of Germany.
